School's Out!

This year of school is over and everyone is glad! Yes even me! I don't have to fight with kids who want to sleep in and try to make it to the bus! Here is a collection of pictures from the end of school. I only have them of Elijah because Julia didn't really have any activities for us to attend.

This year Elijah was in the recorder class in school next year he can be in Band and maybe Chorus if they have one.

There was also field day. Elijah got first place in the balloon toss and third place in the hoop shoot. I took Ingrid with me and she enjoyed playing on the playground for a little while. Her favorite was the slide. We told her we would take her up to play sometime this summer when there weren't so many other kids on the slide. We are going to have to do it soon because every time we go to one of Elijah's games we don't take her down because we don't want to miss it and she has been very patient!

This May we had a flood!! It wasn't as bad as the one several years ago when the "Old Dam" flooded but it was over the bridge. It washed out under one end but at least we can still use it. We did have to fix the fence where the horse and llamas go to the creek to drink. It washed a large log down there and I think it was one that had been causing a dam under the bridge because now the water is about the same depth on both sides. The kids enjoyed the flood and hoped to have a "high water" day and get out of school or have a delay but that didn't happen. It never hurts to try!

The last entry for tonight is Awards Day. Elijah didn't get straight A's this year but he did get all A's and B's and that is great ! He did get an award for History because he knew the most about the Civil War. He is still reading about it over the summer for the summer reading challenge. Ask him a question about it sometime. I bet he can answer it! This is a picture of his teacher Mrs. Teets. He really enjoyed being in her class this year. He will miss her next year but at least he can see her at lunch and in the hallways.

I will be adding more to my blog soon but it is getting late and we have to get up early to go to the stockyard for the junk sale and then the animals then one of us has to take Nicole to the dentist in Accident, then go back home and go to our last regularly scheduled little league game! The Nelson's will take Nicole home for us. Thanks so much guys!! Take care everyone !!
